This Halloween, the Beacon is turning into Castle Dracula for an interactive night of murder, mystery, food, drinks, costumes, and a whole lot of suspicious behavior.

All of the underworld has been invited to Dracula’s 500th birthday celebration. Vampires, monsters, witches, werewolves and other creatures of the night will gather for what should be a perfectly innocent evening of eating, drinking and celebrating. Unfortunately, someone isn’t making it through the party alive.

Every guest becomes part of the story. You’ll receive a character assignment before the event, along with information about who you are, what you know, what you’re trying to accomplish, and a few things you may prefer to keep to yourself. Throughout the evening, you’ll mingle, complete objectives, uncover information, make accusations and attempt to solve the mystery.

No acting experience required. You can be as theatrical as you want to be.

Primary Character

Primary characters are woven a little more closely into the central story. There are 20 of these roles, and they may have a few more conversations, secrets, or objectives throughout the evening. One of them could also turn out to be the murderer or the victim.

You do not need to be an actor or stay “in character” all night. If you’re comfortable mingling, asking questions, sharing information, and following a few prompts, you’ll be just fine.

Supporting Character

Supporting characters are still fully part of the mystery and receive their own identity, secrets, and objectives. They’ll interact with other guests, gather information, and help move pieces of the story along, just with a little less direct connection to the central plot.

Think of it less as taking a back seat and more as riding shotgun. You’re still very much part of the action, just without quite as much of the story resting on your role.

Background Character

Prefer a more relaxed way to join the fun? Background characters still receive their own identity and are part of Dracula’s birthday celebration, but they do not have required objectives or an essential role in advancing the central mystery.

They won’t be the murderer, the victim, or one of the main suspects, and no one will be depending on them for a key clue. You can dress up, enjoy dinner and drinks, mingle, use Mystery Money, bribe or be bribed, follow the investigation, and make an accusation if you choose, all at your own pace.

Your $40 ticket includes your complete murder mystery experience, character assignment, a heavy hors d’oeuvres feast, one drink token, and access to a special Terror in Transylvania drink menu created for the evening.

Costumes are highly encouraged. This is Halloween, after all, and your character information will give you plenty of inspiration. You do not need an elaborate costume, but showing up ready to play along will make the night considerably more fun.

A few things to know before you reserve:

• This is an interactive event, not a stage show. Everyone attending is part of the mystery.

• Primary character slots are extremely limited. Once the 20 primary roles are claimed, remaining guests will participate as supporting characters.

• Character assignments and additional information will be sent before the event, giving you time to plan your costume and get acquainted with your role.

• Come ready to mingle. Much of the mystery unfolds through conversations and interactions with other guests rather than sitting at a table watching a performance.

• Please plan to arrive on time. The story progresses throughout the evening and late arrivals can miss information needed to play their role.

• $40 per person, inclusive of the mystery experience, food and one drink token.
