Herb and Jan Conn are Black Hills legends who moved to the Black Hills as a climbing destination and ended up mapping over sixty miles in Jewel Cave, the 3rd largest cave system in the world. The Ups and Downs of Herb and Jan Conn documents their ascents and descents, and the exploratory, literary, cartographic, and artistic legacy they inspired.
