Black Hills artist Mark Williams has been passionate about writing music, singing and performing on guitar for over 40 years. Mark began picking and grinning, singing and songwriting at an early age. He has developed a unique styling and winning performance that combines raw talent and subtle humor that pulls his audience in and keeps them engaged throughout the evening.
Mark takes his listeners through classic tunes from Hank Williams, Neil Diamond, Merle Haggard, Dan Fogelberg and brings forth spot-on renditions of Gordon Lightfoot, Elvis and many other artists. Each musical set is sprinkled with Mark's original songs that offer blues with a jazzy feel and well-crafted, love-lost tunes. He covers a lot of ground and brings his audience right along with him.
A graduate of Grove School of Music in Los Angeles, Mark majored in vocal music with a minor in songwriting. Mark spent nearly 20 years in Portland, Oregon, and enjoyed some winters in Kenai, Alaska, where he was a frequent guest on Peninsula Saturday Night, a radio show broadcast that featured singers and songwriters from Alaska. Mark has returned to his native Black Hills, bringing with him the life experience and musical depth that touches the hearts and souls of audiences everywhere.
